Carjacking in Saskatoon by two men armed with machetes

SASKATOON – Two men were injured Tuesday morning after a carjacking in Saskatoon by two masked men armed with machetes.

Police say the vehicle was stopped in the 200-block of Avenue L South around 6:15 a.m. when it was approached by the two masked men.

Two men inside the vehicle were assaulted and the suspects then took off eastbound on 21st Street in the stolen vehicle.

It was recovered about 15 minutes later in the back lane in the 500-block of Avenue J South.

The two victims were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

There is no description of the carjackers.
