The Vancouver Police Deparment is taking a self-aware tact in combating theft from cars in Stanley Park this summer.
Beginning tomorrow, Vancouver Police will be giving a seat mat to people visiting the park by car that reads “Nothing to steal but this sign. Please don’t steal the sign.”
The campaign is meant as much for drivers as it is for would-be stealers. Police will also be reminding people when they hand out the sign to remove valuables from their car.
“Theft from autos can be prevented” said Constable Brian Montague in a statement.
“Don’t tempt a thief by leaving valuables in your car.”
