TORONTO – Toronto police say a man who was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene last weekend has died.
Jay McGinn, 28, was getting into a cab near Kensington Market on Saturday when he was hit.
Police say he was rushed to hospital in critical condition and died in hospital on Thursday.
Karen Fyfe, 31, of Oshawa, was charged with failing to stop causing bodily harm but the charges are expected to be upgraded.
Fyfe was released on $15,000 bail on Wednesday on conditions that she follow a 6 p.m. curfew, refrain from driving, drinking or consuming drugs, and attend drug and alcohol counselling.
She is scheduled to return to court on June 16.
