Toronto’s Drake, Director X get BET Awards nominations

TORONTO — Canadian rap star Drake nabbed three nominations for this year’s BET Awards, including Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

The Toronto-born superstar is up against Future, J Cole, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar in the category.

Drake’s “Worst Behavior” is nominated for Video of the Year and he got a nod in the Best Collaboration category for “Hold On (We’re Going Home)” featuring Majid Jordan.

Also nominated for Best Collaboration is Robin Thicke for “Blurred Lines,” his hit with T.I. and Pharrell Williams.

Toronto’s Julien Christian Lutz, better known as Director X, is nominated for a BET Award in the Best Video Director category. He helmed Drake’s “Started From the Bottom” and “Worst Behavior.”
