An autopsy determined that 46-year-old Dennis Manuel Barreira died from strangulation.
Police believe two men were invited into Barreira’s home, and at least one of them was known to him. It’s alleged that the pair went there with the intent of robbing the house, and Barreira was killed in the process.
On Tuesday night, two men were arrested in northeast Calgary, and have since been charged.
Kyle Earl Pate-Miller, 21, and Chad William Brian Mondoux, 24, both face first-degree murder charges.
They are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
