Prince Albert Mintos win first game at Telus Cup

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Connor Ingram made 30 saves and Dakota Boutin had a goal and an assist as the Prince Albert Mintos beat the Toronto Young Nationals 4-1 Monday in the opening game of the Telus Cup men’s AAA hockey championship.

Lance Yaremchuk, Keegan Kjargaard and Teal Sobkowicz also scored for Prince Albert.

Mackenzie Graham had the only goal for Toronto, while Izzy Benigno stopped 35 shots.

Prince Albert started quickly, with Boutin and Yaremchuk, on a power play, scoring in the first period.

Toronto cut the lead to 2-1 when Graham scored on a power play at 14:52 of the second, but Kjargaard restored the Mintos’ lead with another power-play goal just over three minutes later.

Sobkowicz capped the scoring with a goal 1:02 into the final period.
