TORONTO — Siva Kaneswaran of UK boy band The Wanted insisted Thursday the group really is just taking a break — not breaking up.

“It’s a weird feeling but we all agreed after four years to take a break and do our own things and be creative and have fun,” the singer said during an appearance on Global’s The Morning Show.

In January, The Wanted — which also includes Tom Parker, Max George, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes — announced a hiatus after the Word of Mouth tour.

“The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future,” the statement read.

The group performs Thursday at Toronto’s Sound Academy and will be at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver on April 25.

Kaneswaran, 25, said he will be busy during the band’s break.

“I’m going to do my own music. I’m going to go into acting,” he said. “Out of the band I can just go crazy and be me.”

The pop star will also be focused on tying the knot with longtime girlfriend, shoe designer Nareesha McCaffrey.

On The Morning Show, Kaneswaran downplayed reports the couple is planning a million-dollar wedding.

“My partner is planning that so I have to call her and speak about that if it’s a million quid,” he said with a laugh. “We’ve got to talk.”

Kaneswaran said the pair is considering a Great Gatsby theme and hasn’t settled on a location.

He also revealed they are considering a move across the pond to the U.S.

For now, theirs is a long distance romance.

“She comes on the road for a few months and then she gets sick of it. She’s like ‘I need to go home. I need some normal food.’ And then it’s Skype for many, many weeks,” explained Kaneswaran.

“I just spoke to her this morning and I’m probably going to speak to her tonight. Just keep on communicating and that works.”
