A storm that passed through the valley Thursday night had fire crews scrambling throughout our region.
The B.C. Forest Service says the lightning caused a total of eight spot fires in the Penticton fire region, which includes the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys.
One incident was on a hillside near Keremeos.
Fortunately the lightning was followed by a heavy rainfall, which doused most of the flames.
Nevertheless, initial attacks crews were called in to ensure the fires were put out completely.
