EDMONTON – Friends of an Edmonton researcher who went missing two weeks ago are holding out hope she will be found.
On Sunday, March 23, 2014, 32-year-old Anina Hundsdoerfer was reported missing by her roommate Caroline Hendley.
“We are extremely concerned for Anina’s well-being and need to find her,” said Hendley.
It’s believed Hundsdoerfer’s last known location was the office where she works, near 99 Ave. and 108 St., between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on March 22.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife officers found Hundsdoerfer’s blue Toyota Echo car parked on the side of Highway 734, between Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg, on March 25.
Officers contacted the Edmonton Police Service’s Missing Persons Unit and officers were able to confirm the finding.

Now, Hundsdoerfer’s friends are preparing to plaster the area where her car was found with missing person posters and billboards.

“We are doing everything we can; posters make the search more visible and might jog someone’s memory. Any information at all at this point could help us find her,” appealed Hendley.
According to Rocky Mountain House RCMP, the search is currently being reassessed. Officers say the area is heavily wooded, with waist deep snow.
Hundsdoerfer’s friends are keeping faith, though, that they will soon be reunited with her.
“We have quite a number of people who would be willing to join and help. We’re also asking if there’s anybody else who’s skilled in that area, who has the equipment, who would like to join us…we’ll coordinate that with the RCMP,” said Hendley.
A Facebook page has been set up to raise awareness about Hundsdoerfer’s disappearance.
Anyone with information that may help locate Hundsdoerfer is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone, or the RCMP Rocky Mountain House Detachment at 403-845-2881. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
