Worker killed on Highway 63 near Wandering River

EDMONTON – The RCMP is investigating the death of a 37-year-old man whose body was found near a work-site off Highway 63.

Monday morning, officers were notified about a missing employee north of Wandering River, near the 98 kilometre marker on Highway 63.

The 37-year-old was working on road construction in the area.

With the help of a police dog, the man’s body was found near the worksite.

Neither his name nor the name of the company he worked for is being released at this time.

Occupational Health and Safety has been notified.

The death is not considered suspicious.

It is believed weather played a role in the death. When the man was reported missing, it was about minus 25 with the wind-chill.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
