Chase leads to dead end for Saskatchewan break and enter suspects

BLAINE LAKE, Sask. – A chase in Saskatchewan lead to a dead end for two break and enter suspects on Wednesday morning.

It began when Blaine Lake RCMP received word from a homeowner in the town that a man was in their residence.

When he was discovered, the suspect and a second person took off with some stolen items in a white Dodge half-ton. The truck had been stolen from Alberta and had a stolen Alberta licence plate.

Mounties spotted the truck heading westbound on Highway 40 near of Hafford. The two suspects were captured when the driver turned down a dead-end road.

Darin Russel Gustafson, 48, and Rebecca Dawn Yaremko, 26, both from the Saskatoon area, are facing a number of charges including break and enter, flight from police and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Both will remain in custody until their next appearance in a Saskatoon courtroom on Friday.
