CALGARY- A controversial Calgary MP says he plans to sue another former Alberta politician over what he calls false allegations.
Rob Anders says he is considering legal action against former cabinet minister Ron Liepert, over “defamatory claims made by the Liepert campaign in respect of the Anders campaign’s voter outreach.”
Both Anders and Liepert are running for the Conservative nomination in the new federal riding of Calgary Signal Hill, and the Prime Minister has publically endorsed Anders.
The latest war of words stems from claims made by Liepert’s camp that the Anders’ team called supporters claiming to be from the Liepert campaign.
The following statement was posted on Liepert’s Facebook page:

In a statement on his website, Anders said in part:
“This is exactly the type of low brow, bottom-of-the-barrel, gutter politics Albertans have come to expect from Ron Liepert, a man with a history of bullying and intimidation while in public-office.”
The nomination vote is set for April 12.
