WINNIPEG – Walking with Dinosaurs the Arena Spectacular returns to Winnipeg this fall for the first time since 2007, True North Sports and Entertainment announced Thursday.

The huge production, which features realistic, life-size dinosaur replicas roaming and stomping in front of arena crowds, will appear at MTS Centre from Oct. 8 to Oct. 12.

Tickets will go on sale April 17.

It’s part of a 30-city North American tour that begins in Cleveland, Ohio, in July.

Walking with Dinosaurs the Arena Spectacular was developed in Australia and first visited North America in 2007.

“Many of our creatures have ‘evolved’ since the last tour, now featuring distinctive display feathers, head crests and tail fans, reflecting recent discoveries about the physical nature of these massive creatures. This show remains a must-see for audiences of all ages,” Carmen Pavlovic, CEO of Global Creatures, said in a news release Thursday.

The show will feature 10 life-size creatures representing all 200 million years of the era of the dinosaurs, the company said, from the famous and terrifying Tyrannosaurus to the gigantic Brachiosaurus, which is 36 feet tall and 56 feet long.

More information about the Winnipeg shows will be released in the coming weeks, True North Entertainment said.
