OUTLOOK, Sask. – An Outlook, Sask. organization has been fined for a workplace death that occurred in 2012.
The South Saskatchewan River Irrigation District No. 1, Inc. pleaded guilty in provincial court for failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare of a worker and in so doing caused his death.

A worker drowned on Aug. 27, 2012 while he was shutting down a water pump and draining canals near Outlook.
The organization was fined $49,000. Three other charges were stayed.
