TORONTO – A 28-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of a woman in Toronto.
Police were called to an apartment building on Saturday in the Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East area and found a woman who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.
The woman, who has been identified as 26-year-old Vilanong Douangphachanh, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect was taken into police custody at the scene.
Police say Achint Ranhotra is charged with one count of manslaughter.
There has been no word on the relationship between the victim and the suspect, or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
