TORONTO — When members of Canadian band Skinny Puppy learned their music may have been used at the infamous Guantanamo Bay prison camp, they decided to bill the U.S. government for royalties.
“We heard through a reliable grapevine that our music was being used … to musically stun or torture people,” explained group founder cEvin Key. “We heard that our music was used on at least four occasions.”

But, Key told the Phoenix New Times, the Vancouver-based band didn’t send the invoice.
“Because we make unsettling music, we can see it being used in a weird way,” said Key. “But it doesn’t sit right with us.”
Skinny Puppy is currently on tour in the U.S. and will play Toronto’s Sound Academy on Feb. 18 and Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on Feb. 28.
