SaskEnergy sends help to restore heat for Manitoba residents

REGINA – SaskEnergy has sent help to Manitoba to try and get heat back into homes as quickly as possible after a pipeline explosion has left as many as 4,000 families without heat.

SaskEnergy’s CNG Trailers will enable Manitoba Hydro and TCPL to help provide gas in the area until the damaged pipeline can be repaired.

SaskEnergy has also offered to send service technicians to help get heat in the homes of the Manitoba residents who still don’t have any – no word yet if the additional help is required.

Manitoba Hydro said the supply of gas – the overwhelmingly predominant fuel used for heating in the region – could be restored as early as Monday night, but warned that it could take at least two full days to restore service to all customers.
