“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …” Musk said in post on X.

Social media users from around the world, including Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia, reported the platform either being slow to load or entirely inaccessible on Monday morning.

There were several waves of outages reported around the world on the online outage tracker downdetector, with complaints peaking around 6 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. However, use of twitter was restored by Monday afternoon

This comes as Musk has been facing a wave of protests over his leading role in U.S. President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Hundreds of protesters gathered at a New York City Tesla showroom on Saturday as part of sprawling demonstrations against Elon Musk‘s high-level involvement with the Trump administration.
