Police offer $50,000 reward in 2012 homicide case

TORONTO – Toronto police announced Thursday a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect involved in the 2012 murder of Leonard Fullerton.

The 26-year-old man was gunned down outside a pizza parlour around 4:30 p.m. on Oct 30, 2012 near the Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West area of Toronto .

Police say Fullerton, also known as Chris or Curlz, was shot multiple times in the torso on a busy street and in front of many witnesses.

“It was definitely a targeted shooting and that’s what we know and believe,” said Detective Leslie Dunkley at a press conference Thursday. “It happened very quickly.”

Investigators believe the shooting was a public execution, however the motive for the murder is still unknown.

The victim’s family was also in attendance at the press conference and issued a public plea to find the killer.

“Report this incident, this person to the police,” said Fullerton’s father Leaford. “You realize that it could be your son and getting the feelings that I’m getting, it’s unbearable.”

Witnesses at the time told police Fullerton was arguing with the suspect but had walked away before he was shot.

It is also believed the suspect fled the scene by getting into a silver vehicle.

Police say a number of witnesses who were at the scene have yet to come forward.

“More than 10 that were in close proximity to where the shooting took place, some have come forward,” said Det. Dunkley.  “But I know some have information that have not come forward.”
