VANCOUVER – Vancouver-based video game studio Propaganda Games, developer of Tron: Evolution, has been shut down by its parent company, Disney Interactive Studios.
Last year Disney Interactive laid off staff and cancelled the much-anticipated game Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned at Propaganda Games.
In a news release issued Wednesday, Disney Interactive Studios said: "Disney Interactive Studios confirms the closure of its Vancouver-based internal game development studio, Propaganda Games.
"The studio has completed all work associated with its most recent project."
Propaganda ranked tenth, by employee count, on Business in Vancouver’s list of biggest video game companies in B.C.
Propaganda, which was launched by Disney in April 2005 as Revolution Interactive Entertainment, had an estimated 70 employees.
The 30,000 square-foot studio was located at 401 West Georgia, Suite 600.
