WINNIPEG – School buses won’t be running in the city of Winnipeg and school is cancelled in the Red River Valley, Interlake and Lord Selkirk school divisions on Tuesday due to the cold.
Sagkeeng First Nations schools, Sgt. Tommy Prince School on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, Stonewall Faith Academy and Little Red Spirit Broadway Head Start are also closed.

Brandon School Division won’t run buses outside the city but buses will run as usual in Brandon.
Schools are open in Winnipeg and Brandon.
Teachers in Lord Selkirk School Division are expected to report to work.
The temperature at Richardson International Airport at 6 a.m. was -32 C and -45 with the wind chill.

The morning commute was also expected to be slow as parents drive their children to school and with crashes on Waverley Street, Henderson Highway and Pembina Highway reported shortly by 7:30 a.m.
