REGINA – The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) has laid eight charges against a 25-year-old American man following a significant firearms and drug seizure at the North Portal.
On New Year’s Eve CBSA officers searched a vehicle and confiscated a 9 mm handgun, an AR-15 assault rifle, a set of brass knuckles, a brass knuckle knife and four high capacity magazines. Officers also found 15 grams of suspected marijuana.
Derrick Alonzo Cash, Jr. of Miami, Florida is facing eight charges under The Customs Act, The Criminal Code, and The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Cash will make his next court appearance on Monday.
In 2013, CBSA officers in Saskatchewan seized 24 undeclared firearms.
