Police identify man whose burnt remains found at Oakfield Park

GRAND LAKE, N.S. – Police have released the name of a man whose burnt remains were found earlier this week at a Nova Scotia park.

They say 26-year-old Matthew Anthony Penny of Dartmouth was the victim of a homicide.

Penny’s body was discovered Wednesday at Oakfield Provincial Park in Grand Lake, about 35 kilometres north of Halifax.

An autopsy has been conducted, but police have not released the cause of death.

Police are appealing to the public for information on the case.
