Peel Regional Police say a man is dead and another man is injured after a shooting in Mississauga early Thursday.
The shooting happened at a commercial-industrial plaza near Dixie Road and Queensway East at around 2:45 a.m.
Const. Nikhil Chakravarthy told reporters a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another male victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, paramedics said.
“The victims were found a short distance apart from each other which is a contributing factor as to why this scene is as large as it is,” Chakravarthy said.

“Given the complexities of a homicide investigation, we typically start off with the largest scene and go down as required.”
He said it appears the victims were shot at by suspects but that gunfire was not returned by the victims.
Chakravarthy said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
No suspect information was available. Chakravarthy said it is unconfirmed if the shooting was affiliated to a business in the area.
