Winnipeg police say an 83-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a pickup truck on Pembina Highway on Tuesday morning.
The incident, which happened near the intersection of Pembina and Daly Street, led to the closure of all southbound lanes of Pembina and traffic being re-routed.
Police said they arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m. and provided emergency medical care to the man, who had “serious bodily injuries”, before he could be taken to hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado involved in the crash stayed on the scene to speak with investigators, police said.
