TORONTO – Almost a month after he was asked not to attend the Toronto Santa Claus Parade due to allegations of drug use, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford got into the holiday spirit Saturday morning at the Etobicoke Lakeshore Christmas Parade.
Ford avoided questions from reporters as he handed out candy canes, greeted supporters and posed for photos.

Not everyone was happy to see the mayor and some spectators heckled him as he walked by.
Police documents released this week suggest Ford allegedly used heroin in April and tried to buy the video purportedly showing him smoking crack cocaine, which he admitted to using last month.

The parade started at 10 a.m. at Dwight Ave. and headed west along Lakeshore Blvd. W. to Thirty Sixth St. It featured 10 marching bands and 15 professional floats.
