Arrest made in knifepoint robbery in Peterborough: police

A man is facing charges following a reported armed robbery in Peterborough, Ont., on Sunday night.

Peterborough Police Service say around 8:50 p.m., a man was robbed at knifepoint in the area of Murray and Aylmer streets. Police say the victim, who was not injured, was threatened and had his cellphone stolen.

Police say a short time later they found a suspect in the area and he was taken into custody without incident.

A 34-year-old man from Peterborough was charged with armed robbery and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Peterborough on Monday.
