Christmas Tree Recycling at UBC Botanical Garden

Recycle your Christmas tree! 10 am to 2 pm daily. Proceeds directly support Thunderbird Elementary, a school located in East Vancouver with a high percentage of vulnerable students and families. Garden lessons, provided by SPEC (Society Promoting Environmental Conservation), give students the opportunity to observe, learn and connect to their natural world through engaging hands-on activities in their school garden. Our tree chipping fundraiser will help fund the fixing of the broken garden boxes at Thunderbird Elementary. How to recycle your tree: Please remove all decorations and tinsel. A suggested minimum donation of $5 is appreciated. Drop off your tree at UBC Botanical Garden. Follow the signs and place your tree behind the orange posts. They will be chipped into mulch and used on garden trails. No yard trimmings – invasive plants from other areas can harm the Garden. Tree chipping is generously supported by Wood Pro Tree Services and UBC Campus Security.
