As documented in local Maple Ridge author Dr. Biju Mathew’s book, Super 30, Kumar drafts 30 educationally bright yet underprivileged students into his coaching program each year – free of cost – giving them a shot at the prestigious, highly competitive, and daunting entry exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Starring one of India’s hottest actors, Hrithik Roshan, Super 30 is a story of Kumar’s struggle and achievement, and how one person can make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged students. Following light appetizers, provided by Maharaja Catering, your evening includes an onstage interview with Dr. Biju Mathew, Anand Kumar, and his brother, Pranav led by Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News Publisher, Lisa Craik, and a screening of the film.
