Location: the Stern Wheeler SS Sicamous – find us on the beach in Penticton, BC (at 1099 Lakeshore Drive West, Penticton, V2A 1B7) Frequently Asked Questions Will there be a price for admission to the event? Yes, admission will be $4 per person. Children aged 12 and under can visit for free. Proceeds go jointly to the Okanagan Maker’s Society, and the SS Sicamous Society too. Do you take card payments, or is this a cash only event? Front door admission is by cash, but many of the vendors will have the option of purchasing by card. There is also an ATM nearby, across the road at Salty’s Beach House. Is there free parking? Yes, there is free parking all along lake shore, and across the road in the LocoLanding car park. Is the venue wheel chair accessible? Yes, we have an exterior elevator, so guests can now reach the second level of the ship without needing to climb the stairs. Just ask at the front desk, we will show you the way to the elevator. Can I bring my push chair or buggy? We would recommend parking your buggy outside, and continuing inside the ship on foot. This is because it is very full, and some of the walkways are narrow. How many visitors are you expecting? We are expecting upwards of 2000 visitors over the Christmas Market weekend. Will there be coffee and snacks? Yes, we will have a vendor offering hot coffees and beverages from the Ship’s Galley. Lots of vendors will have yummly home made treats on offer too. Is the miniature model railway running? I’m afraid not. The tracks and model are being upgraded this winter. The railway club are already busy, and some of the main tracks are not quite operational at the moment. You can still explore and visit though, and see how many santa’s you can find! I’d like to become a vendor, who do I contact? I’m afraid that this market is fully booked, and they are no longer accepting applications. You are welcome to contact the Okanagan Maker’s Society though, and they will be happy to add you to the mailing list – so you can be sure to know in advance next time. I’d like to learn more about the market, who should I talk to? This Christmas Market is organized by Laurel Burnham from the Okanagan Maker’s Society.
