All are welcome to view Dhamma Karuṇā, a Vipassana Meditation Centre, for a one-day open house on Saturday, October 14. Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin is offered at ten-day silent retreats held monthly at Dhamma Karuṇā, located in Youngstown, Alberta. An open house is an opportunity for family and friends and the general public to visit the meditation centre. The day’s schedule includes: tours, video screenings, refreshments and activities for children. The Alberta Vipassana Foundation (est. 1996) has been offering meditation courses at this peaceful location just outside Youngstown, Alberta since December 2014. The centre, Dhamma Karuṇā, (meaning the compassion of dhamma) provides a quiet, secluded environment for the introspection that forms an integral part of a Vipassana meditation course.
