Joel Gotlib
Veteran journalist Joel Gotlib joined Global News in June 2026 and is beyond grateful to be back doing what he knows best.
Joel has more than 25 years of experience in television newsrooms across Canada.
After graduating with a BAA from the Ryerson University’s Radio & Television program (now Toronto Metropolitan University), Joel worked as a sportscaster, weatherman and entertainment reporter for five years at CKWS-TV in Kingston.
Joel then moved to Edmonton to work at CFRN as a news anchor and reporter for two years, before taking on an evening news anchor and senior reporter role at A-Channel Manitoba in Winnipeg.
After five years in Manitoba, Joel moved to Ontario to work at Global News in Toronto as a general assignment reporter and back-up morning news anchor.
Joel returned to Edmonton in late 2004 and worked at CTV Edmonton for 14 years as a reporter, anchor, producer and newsroom supervisor.
He’s thrilled to be back with the Global News team.
