One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire erupted at rural home in Delta this afternoon.

The fire broke out in the approximately 80-year-old farm house; which was being rented to a family. No other injuries were reported but the family’s pets perished in the fire.
There are several fire trucks on the scene and crews are still working on extinguishing the fire.
