A 26-year-old North Vancouver man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a random stabbing on a popular trail near the Grouse Grind last week.
He was arrested without incident and is known to police.
LastTuesday, a 59-year-old hiker was stabbed on the BC Mountaineering Trail (BCMC), which is a popular alternative to the Grouse Grind.
Police say the slashing was unprovoked and the two do not know each other.
The attacker fled, leaving the victim to struggle down the mountain. He was met by other hikers who then called 911.
The victim was transported to Lions Gate Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect is being held in police custody.
