CKNW reports the BC Court of Appeal has rejected a bid by a Langley man to have his driving ban reduced.
Brent Parent is serving five-and-a-half year prison sentence for killing Silas O’Brien with his pickup truck in a 2008 hit-and-run.

Parent, who had more than 60 prior driving convictions, was also banned from driving for 12 years.
His lawyer had argued that ban was harsh and excessive. But today, the judge upheld the sentence.
The ban will begin once Parent is released from jail.
