Over 60 boats participated in an “All Nations” paddle as part of reconciliation week this morning.
Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister John Rustad will participate in the “All Nations canoe paddle,” beginning at 9:00 a.m. this morning.
The paddle is part of events leading up to the Truth and Reconciliation Hearings starting tomorrow at the PNE.
The four-day event is an opportunity for residential-school survivors to share their experiences with the public.
The hope is to give non-aboriginal people a better understanding of what native children endured at residential schools.
