TORONTO — Notably absent from Saturday afternoon’s presentation of You Are Here at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was one of its stars, Zach Galifianakis.
The 43-year-old funnyman had good reason to skip TIFF, though: He’s about to become a father.
You Are Here director Matthew Weiner said he found out Friday that Galifianakis would not be on the red carpet at the Ryerson Theatre with co-star Amy Poehler.
Galifianakis’ wife Quinn Lundberg is reportedly due at any moment and he did not want to risk being on the other side of the continent.
The star of films like The Hangover and Due Date has never publicly confirmed that he wed Lundberg last summer in British Columbia and the couple did not make her pregnancy public.
You Are Here co-star Owen Wilson, who was on the official TIFF guest list, was also a no-show at Saturday’s screening.
