Dog owners who frequent an East Vancouver park are saying they suspect someone is leaving potentially deadly, boobie-trapped toys for their pets to find.
Someone has been leaving tennis balls injected with antifreeze around the park located at Grandview and Rupert Street. Some dog owners say for years dogs in the area have been getting sick from the liquid but admit this is the first time they’ve heard it’s due to tainted tennis balls.
Dogs are drawn to antifreeze because of its sweet taste – however it’s very harmful as almost 90 per cent of animal encounters with the toxin end in death, according to the BC SPCA.
