MONTREAL – After three days of deliberations, a Montreal jury has found Maria Altagracia Dorval’s estranged husband guilty of first-degree murder.
Three years ago, Dorval was stabbed to death in her apartment in Montreal North.
During the trial, Edens Kenol admitted to stabbing and killing her.
The 28-year-old mother of three had called police because she was worried about threats made by her ex, but police did not meet with her.
Six days later, Dorval was discovered dead in her home.
After the couple’s separation in August 2010, Kenol attacked his wife as she returned home from a party on October 17, 2010, repeatedly stabbing her in the kitchen of her home.
Police found the woman’s body on the back balcony of the house.
