KELOWNA, B.C. — A trial date has been set for next year for a man accused of murdering an 18-year-old woman in the small B.C. community of Armstrong 18 months ago.
Twenty-seven-year old Matthew Foerster will be tried before a judge and jury in Kelowna starting March 3, 2014.
Taylor Van Diest died after being beaten near some railway tracks on Halloween night in 2011.
Foerster was arrested in Ontario last April and charged with first degree murder.
His father Stephen is also charged with obstruction and being an accessory.
The setting of a trial date was delayed after Foertser changed lawyers twice, and his current attorney, Jim Heller of Victoria, sought more time to become familiar with details of the case. (CKIZ)
