EDMONTON – They may be adorable, but the two pandas that have just arrived from China are causing a bit of backlash for Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Harper was in Toronto to greet the pandas when they arrived at Pearson International Airport Monday.

The much-anticipated panda visit arrives more than a year after Harper announced it in China February 2013.

While a small crowd cheered the pandas’ arrival, their reception – and Harper’s decision to attend it – sparked debate online.
