TORONTO – Justin Bieber has fans all over the world and more than 36 million followers on Twitter – but comedian Sandra Bernhard isn’t one of them.
“He’s a right-wing Christian who’s a punk and weighs in on women’s reproductive rights,” she told KiSS 92.5 at an appearance during Canadian Music Week. “I’m not interested in his opinion.”
In a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Bieber said he doesn’t believe in abortion because “it’s like killing a baby.”
Asked about abortion in cases of rape, the pop star, then 16, responded: “That’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”
Bernhard, 57, wants none of it.
“I’d like to transport him into outer space,” she said. “At the very least bring him back to Canada.”
