3-vehicle collision near Devon sends 2 to hospital

Two men were taken to hospital Friday morning after a collision involving two semis and an SUV.

The three vehicles were all heading westbound on Highway 19 just before the Highway 60 junction when one semi collided with the back of the SUV.

The SUV was pushed into the ditch and that semi then collided with the back of another semi. Both were carrying metal pipes on trailers. The pipes from the front semi went through the windshield and into the cab of the back semi.

The driver of the back semi was removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel on scene, he was taken to hospital with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” according to a release Friday.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver of the front semi wasn’t injured.
