Durham police say an armed man broke into a motel room in Oshawa on Monday afternoon, threatened the occupants and fled with cash.
Investigators say three adults and a young child were in the room at the Kingsway Motel on King Street East at the time of the robbery.
The suspect was armed with a handgun and a knife, police said.

“He demanded money from the occupants, who yelled for help,” police said in a media release.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s or 50s with a beard, green eyes and grey and brown medium-length hair. He has a silver stud labret piercing and a dragon tattoo on his forearm.
Police said he was last seen wearing a plaid shirt with jean shorts, white sneakers and a baseball cap.

No one was injured in the robbery.
