A man is in hospital after he accidentally shot himself in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside early Saturday morning.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) said they responded to a report of a man who had collapsed in front of the Maple Hotel at 177 East Hastings St. around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found the man had been shot. Investigators later determined that the man was injured “following the accidental discharge of a firearm,” according to a VPD statement.
The victim was transported to hospital where he is in stable condition.
