A search is underway in northern Saskatchewan for missing trapper Eric Ratt.
La Ronge RCMP said Ratt was last seen on Oct. 19 leaving a family member’s trapping cabin on Zimmer Lake, which is approximately seven kilometres from Key Lake mine.
Ratt was scheduled to pick up supplies from a C-can camp on McDonald Lake sometime during November but never arrived.
He was reported missing on Dec. 3.

Police said it is not uncommon for Ratt to be gone for extended periods of time.
An aerial search turned up Ratt’s canoe on the north shore of Highrock Lake.
Investigators said that Ratt appears to have left some items in his canoe with the intent of returning, but never did.
Further aerial and ground searches have failed to locate Ratt.
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is organizing a search in the upcoming days.
