Patchy fog is lingering across central Alberta this afternoon and is expected to become more widespread with visibilities at times near zero in fog.

Along with the fog, areas of drizzle will develop and where temperatures drop below zero, freezing drizzle will occur.

Travel will be affected due to the near-zero visibilities and slippery road conditions where temperatures drop below zero.

The widespread fog and drizzle will continue through Tuesday morning.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

Tomorrow a southeasterly wind up to 20 km/h with gusts upwards of 35 km/h during the day will help mix down some warmer air during the day.

We’re expecting to hit a high of 7 or 8 C in the afternoon under cloudy skies with a chance of midday showers as a system builds into the province.

Wednesday-Friday

There is a slight chance of showers early in the day on Wednesday under cloudy skies before we shoot up to a daytime high around six degrees.

Another system swings through on Thursday bringing in a better chance of rain and a daytime high around 7 degrees before a mostly cloudy Friday with just a slight chance of showers and an afternoon high in mid-single digits.

Weekend/Halloween Outlook

It looks like we’ll see a building upper ridge for the weekend that may give us some sunshine on Saturday and possibly even for sunshine with daytime highs back into mid-single digits.

As for Halloween on Monday, it’s still a ways away so we’ll keep an eye on it, but at this point it looks like we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with an afternoon high around 4 degrees and temperatures just above freezing in the evening with a chance of showers.
