2 wanted people arrested by police in high-risk search warrant at Saskatoon home

Police say a high-risk search warrant executed on Tuesday resulted in charges against two people in Saskatoon.

Initially, officers responded to the 1600-block of Avenue C North looking for a man who was wanted on several outstanding charges related to possession of stolen property, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

At around 6:40 p.m. CT, the man and a woman were seen entering a residence.  The woman was also wanted by police for possession of stolen property.

Officials said police had reason to believe the man had access to firearms and obtained a warrant to enter the home.

Police made contact with the occupants and three individuals eventually exited the house peacefully.

The 25-year-old man and 22-year-old woman are facing charges while the third individual has been released.

Members of the tactical support unit and the crisis negotiation team assisted with the warrant following an investigation by members of the stolen auto and guns and gangs units.
