Aurora, Ont. man charged with attempted murder in stabbing of 2 boys

A 34-year-old Aurora man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of two teenage boys during an alleged break-and-enter.

York Regional Police were called to a house on Briardale Place near Yonge Street and Henderson Drive in Aurora just after 9 a.m. Saturday, after a report of a stabbing.

Officers found two 16-year-old boys with stab wounds after arriving on the scene.

Police said the suspect broke into the home and a struggle happened.

The boys were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but their conditions have been since been upgraded to stable.

Police, in conjunction with the OPP, identified and arrested the suspect in Cobourg, Ont.

Christopher Barry was scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court Monday.
