Party like the president with Barack Obama’s summer music playlist

Fans of Barack Obama can now groove to the president’s favourite tunes- he’s shared his summer playlist for everyone to enjoy.

Obama’s summer playlist includes artists ranging from, Jay Z, Nas and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley to Sara Bareilles, Prince and Aretha Franklin.

The White House released the president’s playlist Thursday during Obama’s family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.

The list of 39 songs is divided into daytime and nighttime categories, and the playlists are available to listen to on the Spotify streaming service.

Classic songs on the playlist include Beach Boys‘ Good Vibrations and Prince’s U Got the Look. Other recent releases that Obama is listening to include Acid Rain by Chance the Rapper and Forever Begins by Common.

The president showed his appreciation for jazz music throughout his playlist by including My Funny Valentine by Miles Davis and Lover Man by Billie Holiday.
